About the artwork:
Native to Southeast Asia but widely found in Hawai‘i, torch gingers come in a red or, like the ones depicted here, a shimmering salmon pink shade. With tightly layered petals that resemble flames or elaborate lanterns, there sculptural tropical flowers often become the center pieces of floral arrangements. Whether found in lush gardens or growing wild along a trail, they have a way of stopping you in your tracks.
